George Kostel

George Kostel is a seasoned attorney and neutral with experience mediating and arbitrating complex civil and commercial disputes. He is a founder of the Impresa Legal Group where he leads the firm’s commercial dispute resolution practice. Prior to forming Impresa Legal, George has been a litigation partner in the Polsinelli, Nelson Mullins, Reed Smith and Hazel & Thomas firms. While he has litigated jury and bench trials nationwide for over 20 years, he has particular experience with the “Rocket Docket” of the Eastern District of Virginia.

George brings a practical, balanced perspective to dispute resolution, with experience addressing business, contractual, and employment-related conflicts. He is known for his thoughtful case management, attention to process, and commitment to helping parties reach informed and durable outcomes.

He holds his law degree from the William and Mary Law School and his undergraduate degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University

Jason Matechak

Jason Matechak is a licensed attorney in Virginia and Washington, D.C. He is affiliated with the National Association of Certified Mediators, Virginia Mediation Network, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF), and the American Bar Association.

He serves as the Director for the Center for International Procurement Law and Policy at the International Law Institute. He has served as the General Counsel of International Relief & Development, the Legal Advisor to the International Development Law Organization in Rome, Italy, and as a Partner in the Reed Smith Firm. As a civil servant, he served as a contract negotiator and legal reform officer for the U.S. State Department’s Agency for International Development. He has served on the Council and Administration Committee, and as the Technology Officer, and Rule of Law Officer for the American Bar Association Section of International Law, and has served as a Delegate to the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Working Group on Public Procurement.

He generally practices in the areas Government Contracts and Grants, Governance and Compliance and International Commercial and International Regulatory matters.

Jason holds his Juris Doctorate, George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia School of Law, his Masters in International Commerce and Policy, George Mason University’ Schar School of Policy and Government and his undergraduate degree in Political Science, with minors in Russian Studies and Economics from James Madison University.

Having served as a “big law” partner, as a two-time General Counsel, and a U.S. government official, Jason brings a practical worldly and experienced view to resolving disputes – either through mediation, arbitration, or hybrid approaches.
